Key Concepts

Families Change

Families do not stay the same forever. They keep changing. A baby is born and the family gets bigger. Children grow up and go to school. When they become adults, some may move to other cities for work or studies. People get married and new members join the family. Grandparents grow older. Change is a natural part of every family's story.

Family Tree

A family tree is a chart that shows how all the members of a family are related to each other. At the top are the oldest members like great-grandparents. Below them are grandparents, then parents, and then children at the bottom. A family tree helps you see your ancestors (people who came before you) and understand your family history.

Events That Change Families

Many events bring changes in families. The birth of a baby brings joy and makes the family bigger. A wedding adds new members. Moving to a new city means leaving old neighbours and making new friends. Sometimes, sad events like the passing away of a family member also bring change. Through all changes, family love and support remain constant.

Generations

A generation is a group of people born around the same time. Your grandparents are one generation, your parents are the next, and you and your siblings are another generation. Each generation grows up in a different time with different technology, fashion, and experiences. Grandparents can tell fascinating stories about how life was different in their time.
