Family - Our First School
Before we go to a real school, we learn many things at home from our family. Our parents and grandparents teach us how to talk, walk, eat, and behave. They teach us good habits like saying "please" and "thank you". Family is where we first learn about the world. That is why family is called our first school.
Members of a Family
A family can include parents (mother and father), brothers and sisters, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Every family member has a special role. Parents take care of children and earn money. Grandparents share stories and wisdom. Brothers and sisters play together and help each other. Everyone contributes to make the family happy.
Types of Families
Some families are small with just parents and children. This is called a nuclear family. Some families are big with grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins all living together. This is called a joint family. Every family is special, no matter how big or small it is.
What We Learn at Home
At home, we learn important life skills. We learn how to dress ourselves, tie our shoes, and keep things tidy. We learn to share with others and be kind. We learn about our culture, festivals, and traditions. Family members also help us with our homework and encourage us to do our best.
