Omana's Home - Kerala

Omana lives in Kerala, a beautiful state in the south of India. Kerala is known for its backwaters (connected lakes and rivers near the sea), coconut trees, and green hills. The weather is warm and rainy. People in Kerala eat rice, fish, and coconut-based dishes. Many houses have red-tiled roofs. Kerala is also called "God's Own Country" because of its natural beauty.

Travelling Across India

When Omana travels from Kerala to other parts of India, she sees how different places look and how people live differently. In Rajasthan, the land is dry and sandy. In the mountains of Himachal Pradesh, there is snow. In the plains of Punjab, there are wheat fields everywhere. Each region has its own food, clothes, language, and festivals.

India's Diversity

India is a very diverse country. People speak different languages: Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, and many more. They eat different foods: idli and dosa in the south, roti and dal in the north, and fish and rice in the east. They wear different clothes: saree, salwar kameez, lungi, and dhoti. This diversity makes India special and beautiful!

Geography of India

India has many different types of land. The Himalayan mountains are in the north, with the tallest peaks in the world. The Thar Desert is in the west (Rajasthan). The Gangetic plains are flat and fertile in the north. The Deccan Plateau is in the south. India also has a long coastline with beaches. This variety of geography affects how people live in different regions.
